Awakening is a 24 by 24-inch acrylic painting that captures the quiet intensity of dawn. The piece centers on a vibrant burst of yellow and orange that radiates from the middle, like the first light of morning breaking through darkness. This core is framed by layered strokes forming jagged, diagonal shapes that move inward, suggesting both tension and convergence.

Below, cooler tones create a textured surface that evokes water reflecting the shifting light above. The contrast between warm and cool colors builds a dynamic interplay, while the brush and palette knife work lend movement and depth, pulling the eye toward the center and inviting reflection.

The work emerged from an intuitive process that began in 2022 and unfolded over three years. This span allowed the layering and texture to evolve naturally, much like the gradual arrival of dawn itself. Awakening suggests both a physical and emotional transition—light meeting darkness, stillness giving way to energy. It invites viewers to consider moments of emergence and possibility, held in tension yet unfolding with quiet power.
