Butterfly Meadow has a many layered surface of impasto acrylic texture with translucent washes of acrylic and alcohol ink, allowing color and form to shift. Fiber netting is incorporated into the canvas to add depth and a tactile quality enriching an interplay of light and shadow. Vertical strokes guide eye you upward, echoing natural growth and the lifting motion of wings.

This work moves between abstraction and recognizable elements with a lightness that feels intuitive and fresh. It captures a fleeting moment of springtime vitality—a quiet stirring of life and movement—opening space for reflection on transformation and renewal. As time passed, more ethereal butterflies flew into the painting.  It was awarded first place for floral acrylic at the Amador County Fair in 2025.
