Spirit Horse Thru the Ages is a symbol of endurance, spirit and echoes from the present to the past. The creation was  intuitive to position an abstract horse with a backward glance toward petroglyph cave-like horse drawings racing above elongated, totems some resembling ancient mummies.

The composition reflects my intent to honor the horse as myth and echoing a tribute to its presence throughout human history. As a spirit animal, the horse represents personal freedom, untamed passion, and the driving force that carries you through life. When the horse appears as your guide, it serves as a powerful reminder of your innate strength and ability to overcome life's obstacles with grace

The layers of encaustic wax bring texture and an organic flow unique to the medium of encaustic wax using heat, irons, griddles, scraping tools, a torch, oil sticks and a variety of encaustic waxes.

After this work was exhibited at the Amador County Fair at the end of July, early August 2026, I chose to work on it a bit more, because it was fun!
